ChezList SMS Messaging Terms
Last updated: September 2, 2026
These SMS Messaging Terms describe the text messages that Chezlist Inc. ("ChezList", "we", "us", or "our") sends to guests through the ChezList waitlist and reservations service (the "Service"). They supplement our Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions.
1. The messaging program
Restaurants, bars, cafés, and other hospitality businesses (each a "Business") use ChezList to run digital waitlists. When you join a Business's waitlist and provide your mobile number, ChezList sends you a text message on that Business's behalf to tell you when your table is ready.
These are transactional messages tied to a single waitlist visit. ChezList does not send marketing or promotional text messages, and does not sell or share your mobile number with third parties for their marketing.
2. How you opt in
Text messages are only ever sent because you asked for them by joining a waitlist:
- At the host stand, you scan the Business's ChezList QR code, which opens that Business's waitlist page.
- You enter your name, party size, and mobile number, and tap Join waitlist.
- Submitting that form is your express consent to receive a text message from ChezList, on that Business's behalf, about that waitlist visit.
Consent to receive these messages is not a condition of any purchase. Providing your number for one Business's waitlist does not opt you in to messages from any other Business.
3. What we send and how often
This is not a recurring or subscription messaging program. ChezList sends you a text message when staff mark your table as ready. Most guests receive one message per visit; you may occasionally receive more than one (for example, if staff re-send the notification). Each message concerns only the Business whose waitlist you joined and includes that Business's phone number for questions.
4. Cost
Message and data rates may apply. ChezList does not charge you for text messages, but your mobile carrier may, depending on your plan. Message delivery depends on your mobile carrier and is not guaranteed; carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
5. Opting out (STOP) and help (HELP)
You can stop ChezList text messages at any time:
- Reply STOP to any ChezList message. Your number is opted out at the carrier level and no further ChezList messages are sent to it.
- Leave the waitlist using the link on the waitlist page.
- Email us at support@chezlist.ca and ask to be removed.
If you opt out, ChezList can no longer text you when your table is ready, and staff are not alerted that you opted out — you may need to check your place in line with the host stand in person.
For help, reply HELP to any ChezList message or email support@chezlist.ca.
6. Changes
We may update these SMS Messaging Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above.
